Saving Drafts are a good thing for a techno loser.
LBD’s are the saving grace of all wardrobes. Always appropriate… the go to choice.
Casual – love a matte jersey … draped, bubble bottom, sleeveless (throw a jean jacket, cardigan or wrap over it) or with sleeves. Sympli is the ultimate travel ensemble. Layered, color blocked. Washable. Dress it up with a statement necklace or put on flip flops or ballet flats to bring it down. All lengths work… short short to lanai. Infinity scarf gives you the LA vibe.
Career… My faves? Sleeveless SHEATH, trimmed with leather (have patent and smooth) and JACKETED to make it your own, polished and flexible for this INSANE weather. Love a cool wool or tech. Boots and tights give it an attitude… pumps say “I am all business… creds undeniable”… sandals take you to dinner and maybe some monkey business if you are lucky.” A dress SUIT is an outstanding choice for career wear. Lafayette, Yansi and Judith and Charles (formerly Teenflo… exclusive to Turtletique) are my go to’s. You can full metal jacket or rock left brain/right brain… you got it going on.

Social… maybe a little shine? Spaghetti straps? A killer sandal (not so much on the stockings… leg make-up works.) A wrap or shawl fends of the elements and adds glamour. If you rock a jacket… fur works, keep it cropped for proportion. Length… short as you please or take it to mid-calf/ ankle. Lean or flowing. Glam slam the jewels.

Fall is upon us. LOVE the weather changes. How does one dress? SUIT IT UP! No, I don’t mean the 8o’s Dress for Success handbook navy suit. Remember 9 to 5?

Fall is upon us. LOVE the weather changes. How does one dress? SUIT IT UP! No, I don’t mean the 8o’s Dress for Success handbook navy suit. Remember 9 to 5? A suit is a terrific investment. You can buy matchy, matchy jacket, pant, skirt… in fact it’s a good idea if they all fit well (and a good investment). Then… mix it up. Put your “serious” jacket with sexy tank top, jeans and heels (boots or pumps both work.).. glam it up.
Take your (well fitting) pants and top with a sweater, lightweight knit top and scarf, or cardigan. Wear it to work, wear it to lunch, wear it out to a casual dinner with friends. Love the newer “boxy” shaped tops, kimona sleeves, dolman sleeves. They look great over a sleek, skinny leg bottom (cuffs add a little something extra) or even a wide leg palazzo pant.
Skirts? Yes, please. Short slim, Long slim. All good. For casual, put with an interesting top, scarf and boots (key your tights to boot color, skirt color or go for funky contrast. Texture is good, too. To dress it up… Sleek top (shine is good) and a statement necklace or earrings. Note I said OR… please, not both. Pump with a heel (sling back or peep toe are okay) or kitten heel if you need to walk alot. Voila!
THEN… if you need to be in court, at a funeral, big meeting with conservative clients… Match it back up. Good pump (Donald Pliner and Stuart Weitman or Marchez Vous) are my faves. Sleek underpinning (top), scarf and good jewelry. You are ready to go anywhere and be appropriate, fashionable, and comfortable with your go to suit.
AND – a JACKET with a DRESS (see above for interesting combos)…well that’s just modern and smart.
Plus, it gives you the “layering” option that is so important in this fickle weather.
Stop by Turtletique and you will see options galore for you to SUIT IT UP in your own personal style.

Okay… weird title but there are two amazing ways to fashionably fight cancer this week/month. Have you checked out our CATTLE BARON’s windows? Wish I were going this year and dancing under the stars. No better way to fight cancer, have fun and be ready with the next “cowboy chic” event. There are always events going on in that theme (it’s Texas after all) or throw your own “I just bought a new ranch” or ” I wish I had a ranch” party.
Love the look of unexpected (cocktail dress) with boots or throw a fringed anything into the mix. Works for cowgirl chic or hippy chic. Buy something new for Cattle Baron’s, bring in your photo and pick up your prize. Same day another fabulous event… Race for the Cure. I am running (loosely defined) and if you stop by Turtletique and sign my sash and/or prove that you have gotten your mammogram in the last year (or have an appointment)… collect your prize. It will be a privilege to run for you awesome survivors. I ran last year for my Mom… a month after her passing. She beat breast cancer at 39 (fought a hard fight to be there for me) and lost the fight to esophogial cancer at 81. This bout of C word might have been her friend as Alzheimers was wreaking havoc on her quality of life. WEAR PINK, HAVE A MAMMOGRAM and say THANKS to the brave survivors who have led the way to a better future for us, our daughters and granddaughters.
End of philosophical blog. We would love to wardrobe you to live your best life here at the Tique… any day, any time.
TTFN,
Chances of surviving the travel challenges without my travel knits… zero. A friend said “you are so smart to travel in knits” response… “THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO TRAVEL.” As part of the 3 million mile club… I am something of an expert. My stand by’s (“get it???”) are (1) long tunic with leggings and (2) tank, short boxy top, wide leg trouser. Also a long tank dress (usually throw a jean jacket over). I can wash them out if necessary and hang dry. Add statement jewelry, a scarf, a belt and voila new look. Add a cashmere wrap and even coach can be comfortable. Change up shoes/accessories and head out for dinner, work, whatever and be appropriate, comfortable and stylish. Come into Turtletique and let us wardrobe you with these SYMPLI wonderful separates. My next purchase???? The adorable button front swing dress or empire waist swoosh bottom dress. Wear with leggings, boots, pumps, wedges. Glam slam or funky. You can’t miss.

Looking forward to our fashion show tomorrow… could this weather be any better? An in-store EVENT… taping the best of Fall 2011 trends to air in the future on the Leslie O’Hare show. Hope you make it to be part of the audience… of course we will feed and refresh. Got to put this bar to good use.
Turtletique is focusing on 4 trends… Lady luxe, Prepster, Bohemian and Mod Squad.
Lady Luxe is a Turtletique staple. Lady-like, sophisticated, fashion classics (always with a twist). LBD, suits and suited separates, tailoring, pearls, gloves. Most ensembles polished with a jacket. Good shoes (Donald Pliner, Stuart Weitzman, Paul Mayer) the new pump, boots, ballet flats.
Prepster – Mad for plaid. Jacket, Skirt, Pant (no not together). Put a scarf on it. Crisp white blouses (we love Finley), Tweed, Drivers from Marc Jacobs.
Bohemian – PONCHOs, vests, fringe, tunics.
Mod Squad – Link… where are you? Okay, not all of you get that if you couldn’t watch TV by yourself from 1969 – 1973. Short skirts, long leather jackets, Fit and flare pant, skinny belts.
Comfy sweaters (tunic, cardigan, pull over), anything in red, teal, purple, burnt orange, grey as the newest neutral. This fall is about Comfort, Style and a “pulled together” Statement that reflects the many lives that a modern woman leads.
We are waiting at Turtletique to wardrobe you, pamper you and bring out your best self.

Pair them with “short” … jacket, blouson top, tucked in and belted (skinny belts newest). High heel sandals for now… boots for later.

LOVE the new Christopher Blue charcoal knit jeans… skinny. Pair with tunic, big shirt (vest over would be cool) or tucked in and belted. Belt over tunic works… low slung. Ballet flats, drivers for now… boots for later. High heel or flat… both good. Come while we have your size and a great selection.
DRESS. KNIT. CAMEL. short sleeved, LADYLIKE. from Pink Tartan… a wardrobe builder for sure. Pair with amazing DonaldJPliner textured sling back pumps. Camel is a fashion neutral (works with charcoal, black, winter white or espresso or COLOR… teal, purple).

Pumps are back… round toe, chunky heel and textured (think snake skin). Any suit, dress, skirt or trouser will be updated with new PUMPS.

Come often… new merchandise every day and the most amazing things get snatched out of the back. The coffee bar (and other libations await). Like us on Facebook. There will be deals there found nowhere else.
We appreciate you. Let’s wardrobe build together.
Signing off….
